Skills Boost: How to use AI responsibly in my academic work Online

Curious about using AI in your studies but not sure what’s okay? This introductory session should help! We'll look at what the university expects when it comes to any use of AI in your academic work, what to avoid and where to find guidance. We'll show some practical examples of how you might use AI to support your learning (and when it might not be such a good idea!). We'll discuss common concerns such as plagiarism, over-reliance on AI and the risks of misinformation and bias, and finally we'll explore how to critically evaluate AI outputs and ensure any use of AI supports your learning and skills development not replaces them.

By the end of the session you will be better equipped to make informed decisions about whether and when to use AI tools in your studies.
