EndNote is a type of reference management software that enables users to manage references and import them directly into Word documents.

The EndNote Desktop course is a practical introduction to EndNote Desktop that covers all functionality available in the programme.

Skills covered include:

  • Where to download from.
  • Creating a library (and saving a back-up library).
  • Adding a reference manually and editing.
  • Exporting references from databases and Google Scholar.
  • Inserting citation in a Word document (Cite While You Write).
  • Groups – Group Sets – Sharing a Group.
  • De-duplicating references.
  • Synchronising with Endnote online.

The course is taught using EndNote (21) on Windows.

This event focusses on demonstrating features of EndNote. It is not designed as a hands-on workshop. If you wish to follow along with any demonstrations, please bring your own laptop (preferably with EndNote already installed).
